A 66-part kit complete with B.E.A. markings. The Vanguard first flew in January 1959, and entered service with B.E.A. in 1961, replacing Viscounts on many of the shorter high density routes within Europe. Powered by four 5,000 h.p. Rolls-Royce Tyne jet-prop engines it has a cruising speed of 425 m.p.h. The Vanguard has a wing span of 118 feet and length of 122 feet 10 inches.
