Description
Messerschmitt "Me 109G" – Airfix kit 1384, first issued in 1956, Series 1, listed in the Airfix catalogues from 1962 to 2008. Later renumbered 86, 01006-1, 61072-0, 9 61072, 961072, 1072, A01072.
Many versions of the ME 109 were produced for the Luftwaffe, and this Airfix kit is based on the 'G' version, which was introduced in 1942. With armament of two machine guns, and a cannon firing through the propeller spinner, this 400 miles per hour aircraft fought many gallant, though not always successful, battles with Spitfires and Hurricanes. – Taken from the 1st edition catalogue (1962)
