Initially used as an R.A.F. nightfighter at the beginning of the second World War in 1840, later variations were used as long-range day fighters and ground strafers. The subject of this Airfix kit is the T.F.X., the last version to be produced in any quantity. It combined the virtues of fighter with the striking power of torpedo bomber. This 55-part kit produces a detailed model with a 9 1/2 inch wing span. - Taken from the 1st edition catalogue (1962)
