Bengal Lancer – Airfix kit 02557-7, first issued in 1974, listed in the Airfix catalogues from 1976 to 1979.
A colourful period in the British Army was the 19th century in India and a worthy subject of the time is this skilfully detailed kit of a mounted officer of the 1st (Duke of York's Own) Bengal Lancers (Skinner's Horse). Established in 1803, this famous unit adopted a distinctive yellow uniform and served in many theatres of war including the North West Frontier and China. – Taken from the 13th edition catalogue (1976)
