Description
Paddle Engine – Airfix kit 623, first issued in 1969, Series 6, listed in the Airfix catalogues from 1968 to 1980. Later renumbered C601S, 06551-1, 06870-9.
This fascinating kit is of the Maudsley oscillating cylinder engine of 1827, used to power a paddle steamer on the Thames. Over 120 parts go together to make a motorized working model. – Taken from the 6th edition catalogue (1968)
