Description
"The Great Western" – Airfix kit 1397, first issued in 1957, Series 1, listed in the Airfix catalogues from 1962 to 1982. Later renumbered 161, 01261-6, 61261-8.
Considered to be a great feat of engineering at the time she was launched in 1837, "The Great Western" designed by Brunnel, was used on regular Atlantic crossings between 1838 and 1846, marking 64 crossings in all. – Taken from the 1st edition catalogue (1962)
