Description
McDonnell Douglas F-18A Hornet – Airfix kit 04024-8, first issued in 1981, Series 4, listed in the Airfix catalogues from 1981 to 2007. Later renumbered 9 04024, 4032.
A supersonic fighter-bomber, the F-18A Hornet has been ordered in quantity by the US Navy and Marine Corps to replace the F-4 Phantom. Hornets will operate from both carriers and shore bases. This 92-part kit has a wing span of 171mm, optional weapons and a high degree of detail. – Taken from the 1981 edition catalogue
