Airfix Catalogue description:A Grumman design, the TBM-3 was one of the late versions of the Avenger and was in fact produced by General Motors. The most famous of all American torpedo bombers, the Avenger played a vital role in the sea battles of the South Pacific. This magnificent scale kit includes an operating rear gun turret and retractable undercarriage and arrester hook as well as a full complement of under-wing rockets. - Taken from the 4th edition catalogue (1966)
