Airfix Catalogue description:

One of the finest single-engined fighters of all time, the Mustang claimed the distinction in the Second World War of being the first single-engined combat plane, based in Britain, to reach Berlin.

This kit, containing over 150 parts, will build a P-51D version and includes detailed Rolls-Royce Merlin Engine, cockpit layout with sliding canopy, and retractable undercarriage.

Armament consists of under-wing bombs and six 0.5 in machine guns, three in each wing, with removable access panels. The kit contains a choice of transfer markings and the propeller may be motorised. - Taken from the 9th edition catalogue (1971)
