Airfix Catalogue description:Here is the first of a new series, a 9 inch wing-span model of the Comet 4B. This Airfix kit has 48 parts and comes complete with British European Airways markings, attractive stand and a capsule of cement. The 4B is also in service with Olympic Airways making this version a possible alternative for the collector. The Comet 4B is powered by four Rolls-Royce Avon 525B turbo-jets giving a cruising speed of approximately 530 m.p.h. and a fully loaded maximum range of 2,240 miles. - Taken from the 1st edition catalogue (1962)
