A colourful period in the British Army was the 19th century in India and a worthy subject of the time is this skilfully detailed kit of a mounted officer of the 1st (Duke of York's Own) Bengal Lancers (Skinner's Horse). Established in 1803, this famous unit adopted a distinctive yellow uniform and served in many theatres of war including the North West Frontier and China.
