Quick Gluing Tip
If there are gaps between the pieces that have been glued they can be filled with Humbrol Model Filler. When this has dried hard it can be sanded to the contour of the model with a light grade of sandpaper.

About Vintage Airfix

What is Vintage Airfix?

Vintage Airfix is primarily an information site which happens to sell some Vintage Airfix kits.

Vintage Airfix is a site dedicated to the Airfix catalogues and the history of Britain's best loved manufacturer of plastic scale models.

On this site are listed all the catalogues from the 1st edition in 1962 to the present day. You can see all the catalogues here.

Also listed are all the models featured in the catalogues and the reference/patent number used in that catalogue. For example the kits featured in the 1st Edition can be seen here - 1962 Airfix Catalogue List (1st Edition)

On each models product page is a description and image of the first issued model (wherever possible), the series number of the first issued model, an indication of the rarity of first issued model, the year first issued and a list of the catalogues the model appeared in.

For example :

You'll also notice that there is a "Notify Me" button. I occasionally acquire kits at auction, the Notify Me button does 2 things, first it helps me to know which kits to look out for when I'm at auctions. Secondly, it enables the system to email you when the kit you're looking for becomes available.

Available kits or Kits for Sale are easily identified by having a price (normal listed models do not have a price) and second by having an "Add to Cart" button.
